HomeSpace Celebrates 10 Years

Ten years ago, HomeSpace began with 368 homes and a belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live. Today, we operate nearly 1,000 homes across Calgary, with a small but mighty team of more than 30 people.

Zooming out, it has been a decade of growth, collaboration and bold ideas. From providing emergency housing during COVID to building larger homes for families and transforming vacant offices into affordable housing at Neoma, HomeSpace has continued to ask: What does our city need most, and how can we help?

Zooming in, we see the people who make this work possible: our staff, board, donors, development partners, service agencies and government partners. Above all, we see our residents, who turn buildings into homes and neighbourhoods into communities.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are grateful to everyone who has helped shape HomeSpace. With two more office conversions in the pipeline and a high-support housing facility on the horizon, we are carrying that same belief into our next decade: a Calgary where everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home.
