Seton affordable housing virtual groundbreaking

[embed]https://youtu.be/FQQxg8dzctk[/embed]HomeSpace and Brookfield Residential are delighted to share this virtual groundbreaking for the Seton affordable townhouse development! At HomeSpace we believe that everyone in our community should have access to safe affordable housing, and as we break ground on our 12th build in 6 years we are coming one step closer to achieving that goal. This building was made possible by the generous commitment of visionary homebuilders Brookfield Residential/Albi Homes through the RESOLVE Campaign, the Government of Canada through Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and the City of Calgary.HomeSpace is constructing a 45-unit affordable family-oriented development in Calgary’s Seton community, where rentals will be 20% below market. The development will be comprised of 29 3-bedroom units (7 accessible), 11 2-bedroom units (2 accessible) and five accessible 1-bedroom units, as well as some communal amenity space. HomeSpace will be the owner and property manager for the building and we will work with a social-serving agency partner to provide resident referrals, income testing, supports and community development. The Seton project would not be possible without the philanthropic vision of Alan Norris at Brookfield. Brookfield Residential takes a holistic approach when planning and building communities.  They ensure communities are rich with amenities, walkable, and a place to live, work and play.  By building communities with this approach the end result is an inclusive community where people can thrive in their daily lives.Total project cost is expected to be $13 million and occupancy is slated for the summer of 2022.
