Buffalo, NY - January
30, 2006 - Homespace Corporation,
providing transitional housing and support services to homeless,
single parents and their children, today announced its Hearts
for Homespace Valentine Benefit to support Homespace and
the single parents and their children residing in Homespace facilities.
The Hearts for Homespace Valentine Benefit will take place Thursday
February 9th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Shanghai Red’s restaurant
on Buffalo’s waterfront (2 Templeton Terrace, Erie Basin
Marina). The goal of the benefit is to raise $10,000 for
Homespace and its two Buffalo-based facilities, including Second
Chance Home which opened to teenaged mothers in September 2005.
The Hearts for Homespace Benefit will feature live
jazz, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. Patrons
will be able to bid on gift baskets, jewelry, gift certificates,
chocolate, ski lift passes and more, while enjoying music by the
Clifton Jackson Trio and sumptuous food. It's a great way to find
something special for that special Valentine!
Tickets are $40 and Patron-level tickets are $100. Auction items
may be donated through Wednesday February
8th by
contacting Homespace at 881-4600. Three Corporate Sponsorship levels
are available:
 |
Gold Level Corporate Sponsor - $1,000 |
 |
Silver Level Corporate Sponsor - $500 |
 |
Bronze Level Corporate Sponsor - $250 |
Corporate sponsors receive complementary tickets to the event, mention
in the event program and recognition through event signage.
“Hearts for Homespace is traditionally one of our most successful
fund raising events,” said Thelma Roberts, Executive Director
of Homespace. “This year, we are blessed to have Wegmans (Gold)
and Lamparelli Construction (Silver)
return as Corporate Sponsors, and to welcome Grocery
Manufacturer's Representatives (Gold), First
Niagara Bank, Moog, Inc. (Silver)
and Stahlka Insurance (Bronze) as sponsors. As always, the success of
this benefit depends upon the generosity of the Western New York
private sector. With public funding under increasing pressure, private
sector support of events like Hearts for Homespace is paramount to
our continued ability to provide essential services to homeless mothers
and their children.”

and their children by providing transitional housing and a safe, nurturing

needed to break dependency on public welfare. Homespace operates twelve
townhouses in downtown Buffalo, where residents receive counseling
and training in job skills, budgeting, and nutrition, tailored to their
individual needs. Since opening its doors in 1994, Homespace has graduated
more than 100 families and more than 80% of them have returned to the
community as productive citizens. |
