Buffalo, NY - January
24, 2005 - Homespace Corporation (www.homespace.org), a
non-profit organization that provides affordable, transitional
housing and support services to homeless, single parents and their
children, today announced that its annual Hearts for Homespace
Valentine Benefit will take place on February 10, 2005 at the Saturn
Club in Buffalo with the goal of raising $10,000.
For ten years, Homespace Corporation has been helping young, single
parents, ages 18 to 25, forge better lives for themselves and their
children. Homespace provides transitional housing and a safe, nurturing
environment where single parents can learn the independent life skills
needed to break dependency on public welfare. Homespace operates
twelve townhouses in downtown Buffalo, where residents receive counseling
and training in job skills, budgeting, and nutrition, tailored to
their individual needs. Since opening its doors in 1994, Homespace
has graduated more than 100 families, eighty-one percent of whom
have returned to the community as productive citizens.
Hearts for Homespace Valentine Benefit will be held on Thursday,
February 10, 2005, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, at the Saturn Club at 977
Delaware Avenue. The event will feature live music, a silent auction,
hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. Individuals may support the
event through their attendance and/or by donating items to the auction;
auction items will be accepted through February 1st. Tickets to the
event are $35, and Patron-level tickets are $75. Three levels of
Corporate Sponsorship are also available:

tickets to the event
Silver Level

Bronze Level

In addition to complementary tickets, corporate sponsors receive
mention in the event program and are recognized through event signage.
To date, Homespace has secured sponsorships from Wegmans, Lamparelli
Construction and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Buffalo, and additional
sponsors and patrons are being sought to enable Homespace to reach
its goal of raising $10,000 through the benefit.
“Our Hearts for Homespace benefit has become a staple of our
annual fund raising program,” said Thelma Roberts, Executive
Director of Homespace. “This year we are blessed to have several
new corporate sponsors of the event, but the success of the event
depends just as heavily upon the generosity of the individuals and
corporations that donate gifts to the auction and support the event
through their attendance.”
